Twitter is not a happy place for Celtic fans at the moment after an insipid display against the Newco at Ibrox.

Neil Lennon put out a team that had no shape or purpose from the beginning and was outclassed across the board by a team we have become accustomed to beating since their arrival in the Premiership.

Celtic still have a better squad than Rangers but it is clear that we are in desperate need of fresh faces and ideas.

Whilst Neil Lennon has been a true servant to the club as both player and manager and deserves kudos for picking up after Rodgers shock departure, he doesn’t seem to be the figure that will take us forward to win the 9 and 10, regardless if he brings home the treble.

When Celtic were beaten on penalties by The Rangers at Hampden it torpedoed Ronny Deila’s Celtic career and the ensuing celebrations angered Desmond so much that he opened his checkbook, the rest, as they say, is history.

An undefeated treble was followed by a double treble on the back of 2 years of Champions League football and the cash bonanza within it.

Rodgers of course has since left, however, the club was well compensated for his departure and riding high on the back of record sponsorship, season ticket sales and the sales of players like Dembele and Armstrong.

It is now time to put the money earned this year into the next campaign, a top manager and 20 million pounds to spend should put us out of sight, we have the money, but it will do nothing for us sitting in a bank.

The time has come for Desmond to spend, or forever have the consequence haunt him and his legacy at Celtic Park.
